Would you help your enemy, incase they needed your help? Before you answer that, let me give you a true story I heard somewhere.
It was a bright day just like other weekends. And kids were at home.
There was this one mother who had left her little one under the care of the big sister. The girl was about thirteen years old. But she was able to look after her baby brother as they mother went to work.
She had been reliable for some days. And with help from their mum’s friend in the neighborhood. It was easy for her to manage the task at hand.
So this particular Saturday. She decided to do what she saw her parents do. Heat some water using the heater.
She needed warm water for bathing her baby brother. Her mother had taught her to use stove which was safe. But after days of observing her parents, she realized that the heater worked faster than the stove.
She wanted to join her friends outside. But needed to bath her brother first. So time saving was important to her.
Little did she know, it would turned things sideways.
No sooner had she connected the heater to the socket, she was electrified. The poor little girl faced the rath of electricity at its raw state.
As she fell on the ground, the little brother started crying. Luckily he could not walk, hence not risking going towards his sister. He cried for several hours but no one seems to come to their rescue.
Reason being the immediate neighbors were “enemies” to their mother. So they just ignored the poor babies.
The mother’s friend could occassional come check them out, and that’s how she learned of the incidence. But it was too late to save the electrified little girl.
She was past saving hence too late. Just because the terrible neighbors chose to pass their hatred for their mum to them.
I almost answered before I read it and after I read still my answer is just the same, ” I would if it has to do with life and death off course”. It’s a nice tale but sad as it where

I almost answer the title with “NO”, but after I read, “YES” I would. If I hear baby crying nonstop, I would definitely investigate what is going on – regardless it is enemy or not. RIP for the girl. Sometimes there is a reason behind the accident. We live in this earth for a short time and we should enjoy what it is offer and accept our destiny and make the most of it.

I can never turn a blind eye to the suffering of others even if they are my “enemy”. I don’t think I could live with myself knowing I could have done something to save a life and neglected to do so. Moreover, I feel if I don’t overlook the sins of others then God won’t overlook my sins. “You heard that it was said: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those who persecute you, so that you may prove yourselves sons of your Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise on both the wicked and the good and makes it rain on both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:43-45)
