What do you understand by being mindful? Are you aware of things happening around you? What do you observe right now around you?Do you day-dream?Does your thoughts, emotions and surroundings carry you away sometimes?Do they affect your daily activities? What matters to you the most?Is it your past, present or future? What timings do you dwell the most? What helps you to be aware of your surrounding? What do you do to remain vigilante to the happenings around you? What motivates your alertness?

There are many questions in the discussion. I like all of them because they are pertinent. But I will only answer one. What helps me to be aware of my surrounding is the ability to steady my mind for long. I achieved this after repeated episodes of training.
Chinua….
I don’t know if I ever become more aware. But I do wonder how many people actually take even a couple minutes in a day to just be where they are at an experience themselves and whatever moment; I would bet that very very few people ever do that.
For me, mindfulness means just being aware of whatever state I am in at the moment. And sometimes it just Dondonde me that I should take a moment and see what’s going on within me.
Very thoughtful and thought provoking

Very true, we became too busy to even wonder for a minute on what we are actually doing. We are becoming robotic instead of enjoying life.
