Friends

They come in many shapes, forms, sizes, etc.
They are diverse and each bring something into our lives,
Whether good or bad, helpful or not,
They are called friends.

Some end up being family,
Being there for us no matter what,
They can literally do anything for us, 
We may stay a while without communication but it doesn't affect the relationship,
They are on our speed dial, have our spare keys to almost everything we own,
They always have our back and we know it.

Some end up using us,
Taking our love and care for a ride,
They pop up when they need our help,
Or to laugh at out pain when we are not looking,
Mock the friendship by stubbing us on the back,
It's a friendship full of mere words and no action,
They just bring the worst out of us.

Some become our guardian angels,
No matter how many times we let them down,
They always come to our rescue,
They still see some hope in us,
And believe that we are the best,
They ask nothing in return but simply offer us friendship.

Some use us as yard stick,
They use our lives as a measuring instrument,
Always trying to be better than us,
Giving us wrong information so as to remain at the head,
Never celebrate us but use us to feel better about themselves.

What kind of friend are you?
Be that friend that you wanna have as a person,
Kind and considerate to other,
Someone who treasures others and respect mankind.
