Its that time of the Year…

Its that time of the year whereby families come together and celebrate. They get to catch up , create memories, refresh old memories, buy each other gifts, evaluate their progress as well as fails, among others. Its full of joy and love. Everybody is determined to spread love and happiness.

Its that time of the year when a lot of  giving is involved. People tend to be more generous and loving. Visiting the children’s and old folks care homes, carrying with them food stuff, clothes, shoes, presents and much more. This gesture rhymes very well with this time of the year.

The other day as i was chatting with one of my trainees during break, the giving topic came up. Like many organizations, contributions are being made for children’s home visitations and ours was not left behind. Its a good idea in fact the best one to pay visit to children’s home and I support it, but I also think they are at a better place than those one still living on the streets. And if I was to be asked, I would prefer we visit those guys on the streets who have absolutely no one to make their Christmas merry. The ones already in care homes have a certain guarantee of  getting something at the end of the day but the ones still on the streets have a very slim chance.

We also discussed on how we only give what we longer need in our homes especially in our closets, that is , the old shoes and clothes. And we asked ourselves, why not buy them news ones for a change. We are not only giving them those clothes and shoes as a necessity  but they should be able to enjoy them and feel appreciated. Its not bad to give them the old ones but they are just like us hence also would love new ones.

Give dont donate

We are taught to do unto others what we would like to be done unto us. With that in mind , may everything you do this season  and there after reciprocate it. You want more smiles, give a lot of them, hugs, laughter, warmth, friendship, etc.

Its also a perfect time to travel and explore the nature. Ensure you exhaust all the zoos, parks and orphanages near you. Enjoy nature and remember to take good care of it as you do so. Do not go and feed them with human food, they will be left behind with hurting stomach and we don’t advocate for that. Lets respect their space and support them.

Its another opportunity to develop more hobbies, try all the awesome crazy stuffs and ideas as well as reconnect with each other.

Its that time of the year, enjoy and be happy.
